| In 2nd grade we have 3 field trips. In the fall, we travel to the MN Zoo in Apple Valley. Our spring field trip is to Quarry Hill Nature Park in Rochester where we study soil, animal habitats and even visit a cave. In December we rotate students between the 2nd grade teachers and do a fun holiday activity themed around the Polar Express. If funding allows, we highlight the week with a trip to the Red Wing Cinema 8 to watch the Polar Express on the big movie screen. This year we also will have the privilege of traveling to the Minneapolis Children's Theater to see the play "How the Grinch Stole Christmas" thanks to a grant from the Red Wing Public Schools Foundation. |
